For the past couple of years, I have hosted a challenge for people living with any form of arthritis, chronic illness or disability.

As time has passed, my advocacy goals have evolved. Starting in 2020, I will no longer be doing a challenge but something even better.

I am opening up my Instagram for ongoing submissions. One positive thing about social media is how it brings people together. Many of you enjoyed seeing the photos people submitted, reading about their health journeys and who they were as people outside of all that.

The phrase, “I Am Keeping It Real With” came with the idea to showcase real people who share the good, the bad or the ugly (many times, all three!), of their health struggles.

If you want to be featured, all you need to do is:

  1. Submit a photo
  2. 100 minimum or 2,000 maximum paragraph (that’s the limit Instagram allows per post).
  3. Tell us about yourself! You can share as little or as much, as you prefer. Share your health journey, your interests, hobbies, what you do for work, what your goals are, the possibilities are endless!
  4. Feel free to DM me via Instagram @iamkeepingitrealwith with your information or email me at,
  5. Once a submission is received, I will review it then post within 1-2 days.

*This is open for people living with any chronic illness, invisible illness, invisible disability and caretakers. Hope to see you there!

Tell your story with just a picture and phrase.
