I’m Carolyn and I live in California. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 3 years old when my family was still living in Southeast Asia where I was born. Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis is no joke and all of the joints and bones in my body are affected by the disease.
Since it’s an autoimmune disease, my organs and tissues are also affected. There were not a lot of effective drug treatments to treat RA when I was growing up so it spread quickly throughout my body. By the time I was 22 yrs old, I had 7 joint surgeries. This disease caused permanent joint damages, thus leading to joint deformities. Now at age 47, I’m starting to have other joint issues and the pain is constant. I worked as a Social Worker for over 17 years and had to medically retired because of health issues related to this disease. I have learned that self-care and proper nutrition are my best practices for daily wellness.
I currently run a doTERRA essential oil business, educate, and assist others with their health and wellness journey through natural solutions. I’m also a blog owner at www.foodandwellnessbytippy.com. Through blogging, I share topics related to living with arthritis, healthy recipes, discuss doTERRA essential oils along with DIY recipes to reduce everyday toxic load, and inspirations. Keeping a positive attitude and laughing often can make a difference when I experience setbacks or unbearable pain that affects my daily activities.
I’m on Instagram @foodandwellnessbytippy if you want to follow my journey.
